Working interest shares

Working interest shares (including groups and partners) are created in the Manage Inputs workspace. To access the Working Interest Shares panel, open a project and select the Settings tab.

The Working Interest Shares setting allows you to model joint-venture and farm-in/out arrangements so that you can calculate equity positions in relation to other partners who have an interest or stake in a particular project. You can allocate the working interest for each partner as well as specify which partners’ shares will be calculated and included in reports (see Add working interest shares for partners and groups). Separate splits can be set up for different variable categories (see Add working interest categories). You can also model changes in working interest over time using reversions (see Add a reversion).

To change working interest settings for several scenarios at once, check the Applies to all scenarios box. If this box is not checked, the working interest shares settings (excluding groups and partners) will only be applied to the scenario that is currently open.

For version 16.5 Update 16 and later:

Working Interest data can be stored in hierarchy folders. Projects inside the folder can be set to inherit the WI data (this is the default), or the project can override the data by its own WI settings.

Click the label of the project folder and then click the right arrow > to open the action menu. Select Working Interest to add Working Interest data, or to edit existing data (a new menu 'Working Interest Home' will appear on the ribbon). Select Delete Working Interest to delete data when it exists.

When a project is opened, there is a check box Inherit Working Interest settings from Parent Node. When a project is created this will be set to checked by default.

When a hierarchy folder has Working Interest defined, the icon WI icon appears in the folder label.
